The Coast Guard Seizes Over 55 Million Dollars Worth of Cocaine
The US Coast Guard in conjunction with the British Navy seized $55,000,000 worth of cocaine last week off of the coast of Venezuela.
Coast Guard Law Enforcement Group Team 406 was aboard the Royal Navy frigate Iron Duke when the British ship spotted the go fast boat crew dumping bales of cocaine overboard. When they moved in to investigate the Coast Guard boarded the vessel and took 4 men into custody and recovered the 26 bales of cocaine.
The go fast boat is the choice of many smugglers because they are so small that it is hard to detect them on radar. They can also travel at high speeds to help them evade Navy and Coast Guard vessels.
This is another example of our Coast Guard at work. This is the type of story that many of our servicemen and women use a Coast Guard Ring to tell.
