Learn to be Bodacious

Now the term Bodacious is a combination of two words, Bold and Audacious.

You won’t find out if you don’t try. This doesn’t mean for you to
become reckless. It means something contrary to that. You must have
a knowledge of your situation in order to display bodacity. The person
who is bodacious knows when preparation meets opportunity and is aware
of the correct timing to make his or her move. Timing is the key.
You are taking a risk but you need to only take risks which are
carefully calculated.

The bodacious man or woman has done the homework to stay on top of
the situation. It is more than a whim when he or she makes a decision.

During the Gulf War my boss (who we nicknamed Darth Vader) changed the
game plan on us. It seemed that he had decided to forgo common sense
to change our mode of operation. The problem to us was that we thought
that our way of operating was fine, and it was. It just wasn’t right
for the type of war that Desert Storm would turn out to be.

Darth Vader had the advantage of knowing the war plan. It was drastically
different from what we were used to.

The keys to making a bodacious decision are that you must be acutely
aware of what the situation will require. You must know your capabilities
as well as the capabilities of the people that you will rely on.
You must know your own personal strenghts and weaknesses. Last you
must have an intimate, ongoing, flowing knowledge of the situation that
