SERE Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Training

Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape training is conducted to teach personnel who by the nature of their job whether military or civilian who may become prisoners of war. The branches of the military which have more of a need for this training are the Navy, Air Force, and Army.
SERE training teaches skills which the student may need should he or she be forced to have to evade the emeny while living off of the land. It also teaches resistance to the pressure tactics which may be used on prisoners of war.
Some of the survival skills taught are; emergency first aid, land navigation, techniques for avoiding detection, and living off of the land. Much of the training is classified. I have known many who have been through SERE training and it is pretty intense and realistic.
Resisting sexual assault was added to the training after Operation Desert Storm. Most of the people who go through this training are special ops people so most of my military ring customers will include the mention of this training of a Special Operations Ring.
