The Sub Machine Gun

The sub machine gun was an addition first to the military arsenal which is more of a small caliber machine gun. The sub machine gun gives added punch in close quarters combat than an ordinary pistol because it combines the attributes of a machine gun with a pistol round.
The sub machine gun has the rate of fire of a regular machine gun but since it is so much smaller it dosen't have the same range or the killing power. It also does not have the accuracy of the larger machine gun.
One good thing about the sub machine gun is that it is not bulky and can be very easily handled by one person. It is good to use in close fighting situations when you need to clear an area of more than one person, or you need to provide cover.
Sub machine guns are used more by Special Operations personnel, and tank crews when they are used by the military, however they are gradually being replaced in use by carbines and assault rifles. I have never had a military ring customer to put information about this kind of weapon on a ring. Maybe because military ring customers who may use this weapon often are part of a crew on a bigger weapon system.
