The Pakistani Spy Agency Arms and Trains the TalibanGrasshopper, let the military ring man drop a bit of knowledge on you. I couldn’t believe this story when I read it but it seems to explain a lot of things happening in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Grasshopper, this is totally screwed up but according to a report done by the London School of Economics the Pakistani spy agency is training and arming the Taliban in that country. The assistance being given to the Taliban extends all the way to the highest levels of the Pakistani government. This would seem to explain why the Pakistanis are so slow to engage Taliban forces when we give them the intelligence on where they are located. Now my most honourable military ring customer this brings me to a question. Why should US intelligence have to tell Pakistani intelligence where the enemy is located in their own back yard? Makes you go hmmm doesn’t it?
The US has been frustrated with the Pakistanis lack of action many times when they were asked to engage Taliban forces who have fought in Afghanistan and snuck back across the border. Many of the spy agents are on the Taliban’s Leadership Council.
The Pakistanis have attacked Taliban positions in that country before but only those who have attacked Pakistani targets. They have never attacked Taliban fighters who have crossed back and forth to conduct terror attacks in Afghanistan. This helps to explain why action in the beginning stage of the US offensive has been so tough. I say that we use our right to attack terrorists wherever they are located and forget about the Pakistanis. Missile attacks will never be as good as having troops on the ground but we should use them. They are better than nothing.
